This recipe should win the prize for the most surprising bundle cake of the year. After cutting the crispy ham ring, you can experience a decorative pasta and tomato miracle that also tastes delicious.
For this you need:
- salt
- 500 g macaroni
- 250 g raw ham
- 7 eggs
- 80 g hard cheese
- 500 g sour cream
- Salt pepper
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 250 g cherry tomatoes
- 1 bunch of spring onions
- 150 g dried tomatoes
- 100 g hard cheese
That is how it goes:
1.) First prepare the pasta by adding some salt to boiling water and then simmering the macaroni in it for about 8 minutes until al dente. Drain them in a colander and set them aside.
2.) Then line a bundt cake pan with the ham slices so that they overlap and cover the entire edge of the pan. Now place a layer of macaroni in rings on the bottom of the tin. Work your way from the inside out.
3.) Then beat the eggs in a bowl and rub the first portion of the hard cheese into it. Then add the sour cream and the spices and mix everything carefully with a hand blender.
Place a ladle of the creamy sauce on the macaroni in the pan.
4.) Then quarter the cherry tomatoes and core them. Then cut up the leeks, sundried tomatoes, and the rest of the cheese. Add everything to the pitted tomatoes and mix everything carefully.
Then put enough of it on the macaroni layer that the pasta is covered all around with the tomato mixture.
5.) Repeat the layering of the pasta, the egg-sour sauce and the tomato mixture once and cover everything with a final layer of macaroni. Pour the rest of the sauce evenly on top and fold the part of the ham slices that protrudes from the outer edge inwards.
6.) Put the whole thing in the oven for 15 minutes at 180 ° C in convection mode.
tip: To serve you can turn your work out like a cake and garnish each serving with a dollop of herb quark and a little basil.
This “cake” is not only quick and easy to make, but also a suitable meal for discerning guests: everyone will be enthusiastic about the idea of the layered surprise ring!
