These days there are many ideas of what to do with old packaging. Recycling isn’t just a necessity, it can also be a lot of fun. We have often shown you what can be done with old plastic bottles, for example, but the following project wins the prize. We show you how to make an elegant pouch from two empty milk cartons. A real eye-catcher that no one else will have!
In the workshop :
- 2 milk cartons
- Cutter and scissors or knife
- DIY glue
- Felt
- 2 different pieces of fabric
- Magnetic snap button
- Instant glue
- Brooch
At work !
1. Cut out the top and bottom of an empty milk carton, then open the entire carton. Unfold it so that you have a rectangle in front of you.

2. Coat the inside of the cardboard with construction glue and glue a piece of felt of the same size on it.

3. Turn the cardboard over and place it with the felt side on a piece of fabric a little larger than the cardboard. Cut the corners of the fabric and spread glue on the protruding sides. Then fold them over the cardboard.

4. Turn the box over and glue the magnetic snap button part to the middle of the left edge, as shown below.

5. Glue two pieces of another fabric together to make two squares. (Gluing them together makes the fabric stronger).

6. Fold the cardboard and glue the pieces of fabric on the left and right.

7. Take another empty carton of milk. Cut the top and bottom as in step 1 and open all the cardboard. Unfold it and glue another piece of felt and fabric on it. Fold over the protruding fabric sides.

8. Now spread glue on the cardboard (the fabric side should be facing down) and put on top of the already finished pocket with the first carton of milk. Press very hard to keep everything together.

9. Glue the other part of the magnetic snap button in the middle of your pocket, as shown below.

10. The final touch: decorate the pouch with a brooch.
